George’s playoff struggles in the past won’t go away, but he’s coming into his own once again this postseason. George is already locked into an extension and Leonard will likely do the same, knowing he has a second star in the fold. Now, the Clippers are far more likely to retain the tandem for the foreseeable future.

This postseason was big for him and Leonard due to the latter’s potential to enter free agency. George found other ways to contribute with 10 assists and three steals, but his continued struggles shooting the ball were a concern. The star forward had come off another dismal performance, going 5-15 from the floor as the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Dallas Mavericks in Game 7 in the first round.
